Job advert pay-transparency checker
Paste the text of a job advertisement below. The checker looks for a pay range, flags vague wording and salary-history questions, and reminds you to keep language gender-neutral. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing you paste is sent or stored.
Private by design: the analysis happens on your device and the text never leaves your browser.
What this checker looks for
Under the EU Pay Transparency Directive, applicants must be told the starting pay or pay range for a role before the interview, and employers may not ask about pay history. This tool scans your advert text for a stated pay figure or range, for vague phrases such as 'competitive' that do not meet the requirement on their own, and for questions about a candidate's current or previous pay. It also reminds you to check that titles and wording are gender-neutral.
What it cannot check
A single advert only shows part of the picture. This tool cannot assess gender pay gap reporting, joint pay assessments, worker information rights or your internal pay-setting criteria — these depend on data that is not visible in a job advert. Use the full readiness assessment to review those obligations.
